James is a 2019 Emmy-nominated producer and winner of two 2020 Telly Awards for Love, Gilda, the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival opening-night documentary on the late Saturday Night Live star, Gilda Radner. The film features appearances by Chevy Chase, Bill Hader, Melissa McCarthy, Lorne Michaels, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Martin Short among others. As producer, he is currently in post-production and pre-production on two Italy-based films, respectively: PER CHI, directed by Alessandro Spallino, and BOCCE, written and directed by Jeffrey DeChausse. VIVA VERDI, the feature documentary he executive produced and directed by Yvonne Russo and filmed at Casa Verdi in Milan, is now appearing on the festival circuit. As an actor, James has recently appeared in projects filmed in Italy: Cattleya’s TWO SCOOPS OF ITALY (directed by Roger M. Bobb for Hallmark/Peacock); IL CANTO DELLA MOSCA (directed by Michele Pagano, streaming on Amazon); and THOSE ABOUT TO DIE (directed by Roland Emmerich for AGC/Centropolis/Peacock).

For TV, James has produced countless hours of programming for the major broadcast and cable networks, most notably the event specials Disney’s 100th Years of Magic and Gilda Radner’s Greatest Moments (Disney/ABC); One Night Only: A Tribute to Broadway, Abbott & Costello Meet Jerry Seinfeld, and Bob Hope’s final special (NBC). He was head of production at GPA Entertainment and has consulted at ABC Studios, Disney Channel, Hodder TV and on Michael Moore’s Broadway debut. James produced the pilot and web series, Vendetta, many short films and made his directorial debut in the award-winning My Christmas Wish.
Born and raised in New York City and a graduate of Georgetown University, he’s a member of BAFTA, Producers Guild of America, Television Academy and SAG-AFTRA (select acting credits: Criminal Minds, Resident Evil, Angels & Demons, Melissa & Joey and The Shield) and currently appears as “Jack Cutler” in several DoorDash commercials featuring Los Angeles Football Club players. With dual citizenship in the US and Italy, Jamee divides his time between both countries.
